2020 VMX Alberta - Season Outlook

Beer Hunter, Spruce Grove at 2 PM

Hi VMXer’s,

We have the upcoming season planned out, including the banquet details up to October 24th. We have some new ideas for the upcoming season’s events and want to get together to present them to you.

For those of you in southern Alberta, we would love to see you up here too, however, we could have an iPad available and can use FaceTime, or some other app to connect. You would need to gather at one place and call in…just a thought.

Curtis at Beer Hunter (our club sponsor for years now), Spruce Grove,  has graciously agreed to host this get together on Sunday, March 15, starting at 2 pm. In fact, Curtis has mentioned taking in a couple of events this year! I made the announcement now Curtis, no pressure, lol.

Here are the Sunday specials at Beer Hunter;

Sunday Funday

Free Pool!

$5.99 Breakfast 10 AM - 2 PM

All Poutines $11

$4.99 Domestic Bottles

$5.99 Caesar 1 oz

$5 Mimosa (Champagne and Orange Juice)

Hope to see you then, it’s a great venue to reconnect after all these winter months…Cheers!

Sincerely,

Michelle Grier

"PRIVATE" - CHAD'S TRACK - SUNDAY

North of Stony Plain/Spruce Grove

SEE EMAIL ANNOUNCEMENT FOR ADDRESS

Our club has been invited to hold an event at a Private Track, which we will call Chad's Track for announcement purposes.

There are several ways for us to announce upcoming events, email, Facebook and on our club website. In order to honour his request to keep his track private, we will only provide specific details within the club announcement email.  So please refer to the email for specific details.

This is what I'm hearing about the track after a few of our guys did some test laps..."awesome track, wide for easy passing, amazing up and downhills with no silly jumps, great soil and a super setting in a hilly, treed area! Super Fun!" You don’t want to miss it, we are nearing the end of the season so take this in when you can! The “SNOW” will be coming back soon….

No camping is allowed.

See you there! BBBRRRAAAAPPPP!

Super Dave's - SUNDAY

Thorhild County, AB

For Sunday’s event, riders can camp Friday and Saturday, and can ride for a $20 day pass. Campfires are allowed, just make sure it’s safe and contained.

After several discussions with Mark Fedorvich, the event at his track slated for this Saturday, October 5 has been cancelled due to neighbour and cattle issues. Mark has been working with his neighbour to have this go, but unfortunately, it was unsuccessful. As this is a private track, we certainly do not want to cause problems for him at his home. We thank you Mark for trying to make this work.

On a positive note, Dave Dyer is up for another event at this track for this SUNDAY, OCTOBER 6 for the FALL WINDUP! For this event, the cost to ride will be $20/per rider, with all the fees going to Dave for setting this up on short notice!

The CLUB will be supplying hot dogs for LUNCH, Mitch Brown and Glen will be bringing their grills and we will be served after the first Motos during the break!

This will be the last EVENT of the year, let’s make it a good one. They are announcing great weather, 10 above and sunny!

Let’s DO this!

Directions:

Take Hwy 15 [Manning Freeway] towards Ft. Saskatchewan and turn left at Hwy 28A. Keep going all the way through Gibbons (Hwy 28). The track is approx. 20 min from Gibbons. Head toward Redwater but turn left on Opal Road (RR 224, there is a turn lane]. Go through Opal about 5km up the hill to Twp Rd 584. There is a "Framing by Diane" sign in the ditch. Turn left again (west) and go about 4 miles to RR232 (Budd Coutts Apprenticeship and Education Centre is on the right (north) with several flag poles). Turn left (south) and go to the end of the road and you'll see my driveway on the right. The track is about a 1/4 mile in.

The other way to get there is to take 97st and go to Bon Accord. Turn left on Lily Lake Road [north] and go 23km to Twp Rd 584 and turn right again [east and look for a "Framing by Diane" sign in the ditch]. Go down the big hill to RR 232 and turn right [south]. This road has a no exit sign and look for an old Cable Backhoe. Go to the end of the road and you'll see my driveway on the right. The track is about a 1/4 mile in.

From St. Albert go to Hwy 37 and head East to Hwy 28 and follow it all the way north to Bon Accord. Then follow the directions above from Bon Accord on.

From Ft. Saskatchewan go through the W4 industrial and Sturgeon industrial areas and head straight north on Hwy 825 (RR 224) all the way to Twp Rd 584 and turn left (west). You will pass through Opal. Follow directions above from Opal.
