DORVA - June 9

This Sunday, June 9th, we will be gathering at Dorva Mx in Drumheller, AB for our season opener event. The weather is looking perfect for our needs and the track should be prime. Drumheller is a super cool place and we always encourage folks to travel down a day early to enjoy the sights.

There is Saturday riding available at the track, but you must sign in and pay on the Dorva MX website. If you didn’t pay and sign their waiver, you do not run your bike, even if you are just tuning and not on the track.

Dorva has also offered us free camping overnight, Saturday night so anyone wishing to do so is welcome.

On Sunday, sign in will commence as soon as the table and tent are set up, approximately 8:30 am. Everyone must sign the online waiver on the events page.  There you will see the speed waiver link, click on it and follow the prompts. If you have any issues, we will sort you out at the event.  Also, please bring cash to the sign in table for your race fees.

We warmly welcome everyone to attend whether you are spectating, riding or just want to check it out.

2024 Season Updates

After the AGM, the Board has met to finalize some thoughts and make changes for 2024.

What’s new for 2024?

  • There is a new class being added for 2024. The class name is being worked out as well as final details. For the moment, we will refer to the new class as the plus 20 class. If your bike is 20 years old or older you can race it. This season, bikes up to 2004 will be eligible to race this class. There is no “and the like” rule in this class, the bike must be a 2004 model year or older.

  •  Unfortunately due to the rising costs of everything especially medical coverage at the events, we have be forced to increase the racing fees

    •  Membership fees are now $150

    •  Race fees are now $50

    •  Day passes are now $50

  • The last addition for 2024 is the “Larry Bonazzo Bike Builders Award of Excellence”. This trophy will be presented at the season finale to one of the many fine bike builders in our club.

More info will be put out very shortly on these changes along with the 2024 event schedule.
